We've all seen THAT viral video (yes, the g-wagon one!)

It sparked a million opinions, jokes, debates, and silent questions about Mahr and what's reasonable, what's typical, and what's not.

So I asked Muslim women anonymously all the mahr questions we're dying to have answered...

What?

What was given, how much, and in what form?

Was it a symbolic gift or a five-figure check? Let’s just say… the range was wild.

You’ll see real (anonymous) examples of what Muslim women were given as mahr—and what’s becoming more common than you might expect.

When?

When was it paid—or if it was?

On the wedding day? A year later? Not at all

The timelines revealed in the survey say a lot about how mahr is being handled behind closed doors.

How?

HOW was it decided—and how was it paid?

Was it a mutual decision, a family negotiation, or a quiet agreement behind the scenes?

Some women helped shape their mahr. Others were handed the terms. And when it came time to pay? Let’s just say the methods ranged from heartfelt to... highly creative.
